Requirements for Medical Education in Germany
- To be placed in one of the departments of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or pharmacy
- High school average is good
Any successful student who fulfills these two basic requirements can receive university medical education in Germany.
In order to start medical education in Germany, it is necessary to be placed in one of medical, dentistry, veterinary medicine or pharmacy departments after YGS – LYS exams in Turkey. The average of high school is especially good. After one year of German preparatory training, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or veterinary medicine can be easily preferred.
The History and Steps of Medical Education in Germany
Medical education lasts for 6 years and the training period for pharmacy, veterinary medicine and dentistry department lasts 5 years. In the final year of medical education, 48 weeks of practical training is being carried out. This training corresponds to the Internlig period in our country. This practical education phase consists of first aid training, 3 months patient care training and 4 months practical training (Apprentice – Famulatur).
A physician who has graduated from medical and medical departments can perform his / her preferred field work according to the following options.

Medical Education Fees in Germany
In universities in Germany, there is no fee other than the symbolic period contribution. The tuition fees are the same in all the departments, and the monthly contribution payment is between 100, – Euro and 500, – Euro. There are almost no extra expenses except for a number of professional tools to be taken by students studying other parts of medicine and medicine.Contribution payments are paid every six months.
Application and Acceptance Dates
The applications are held twice a year, in summer and winter. Every student who completes German preparatory training and gives proficiency exams can start the medical department he wants to study.
The deadline for applications for Summer Term is January 15th.
The deadline for winter application is July 17th.
